Program Proposal

Now Accepting Proposals for the 2024 DVSAC Conference!

Submissions received by Friday, October 20, 2023 will receive priority consideration.

The Delaware Valley Student Affairs Conference (DVSAC) planning committee for Educational Workshop Sessions is seeking proposals to be presented at the 2024 conference.  DVSAC will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Normandy Farms Conference Center in Blue Bell, PA.  Please hold the date!

We are seeking programs, designed for and presented by graduate/entry level through seasoned professionals that will enable colleagues to take a critical look at what we do in our field.  We seek programs that challenge us to think differently about our professional responsibilities and/or offer insight into current and future trends.  Over the history of DVSAC and the last two plus years, the face of our profession and of higher education has changed significantly and this conference offers an opportunity to pause and reflect upon the ramifications of these changes.  The goal of the planning committee is to offer a selection of programs that exposes attendees to topics related to theory, practice, or the integration of the two. 

To assist presenters with the proposal process, the committee encourages you to consider focusing on NASPA/ACPA competency area(s) when creating your presentation. For your reference, these competency areas are listed below:

  • Advising & Supporting                 

  • Assessment, Evaluation & Research

  • Ethical Professional Practice     

  • Law, Policy & Governance

  • Leadership

  • Organizational and Human Resources

  • Personal and Ethical Foundations

  • Social Justice and Inclusion   

  • Student Learning & Development

  • Technology

  • Values, Philosophy and History  

Proposals need not be limited to these topics but should include at least one of these areas.  Each session block will be 60 minutes.

DVSAC is a wonderful opportunity for professionals who have not previously presented at a conference to have the opportunity to do so.  We also know that many of us have colleagues on our campuses, outside of Student Affairs, who have information to share.  We encourage more experienced presenters to invite new professionals or individuals outside of Student Affairs to work with them on their presentations.
